  • Maine Boy With A Leaking Boot

Maine Boy With A Leaking Boot

The boy was in rough shape, problems way beyond just a leaky boot.

It took two men and another small boy to heft him up and onto an ambulance stretcher. 600 pounds was the legal limit for the gurney. The boy’s over 600 pounds maxed out the stretcher’s legal weight limit warning tag.

What happened to the Maine boy?

Exposure and too much time left outdoors through all types of weather had caused the steady decline. Loved by all, he was a popular boy known by many. But the years of cold wet weather and wind combined with harsh baking sunshine exposure were catching up to the boy with the outdoor home.

The ambulance snaked its way to Hodgdon, going out the Calais Road and slowly turning onto the Catalina Road.

The situation was dire, the long list of ailments and need for emergency surgery called for special attention stat.
After backing beep beep beep into the location where the boy would spend months of rehabilitation, it took many hands to carefully, slowly pull out and easy does it lower Clancy and the stretcher to ground level.

Rolling him into the open, well lit garage bay door, the rehab work began immediately under the watchful eye and skilled hand of Rod Hemingway. (Silence) What?

Why Rod Hemingway? I mean, gee I know he is a skilled plumber and bee keeper, boy scout team leader and pretty crafty at rebuilding yesteryear early snowmobiles but why Rod? Does he have a medical degree?

The boy was so heavy because he was made of pig iron. Bulky like dead weight cast iron radiators.
His head had come off and his arm held high all those years holding rock steady a perpetual leaking boot was compromised too.

    Ho Ho Ho.
He is the best gift to a town a kind person could ever give in memory of her dearly departed husband.

Life had caught up to the boy despite Mike Clark and Kay Trickey and Bob Aucoin among others providing emergency care and touch up over the years.

Too much outdoor living and picture taking with selfie posing tourists. Too many HFD ice cream cones enjoyed while listening and admiring his leaking boot. Everyone admires His distinctive red shirt, blue pants and turn of the century hat.

The 1916 Ambassador of Houlton Maine purchased by Clara Frisbe for the area to enjoy and to welcome out of town guests was in seriously poor condition. Needing more than a cosmetic patch and a dab of new paint.

Rod Hemmingway is old enough to know about soldering, welding the brittle and outdated materials used back in 1916. His mission was to reattach the boy’s head, to reinforce and make the boy’s body parts solid and better than new.

Or at least get the boy back on his feet and able to climb back up on his dark green 8 water fountain pedestal perch.

Where is his home? His home today in the Pierce Park triangle where Main and Military merge in Houlton Maine is a common tourist destination stop. Where the PD and FD can be close at hand if the need arises.

Under Repair, Fixing What Ails The Boy With The Leaking Boot!

How did the touch and go life and death operation go? (Sound of medical equipment beeping monitors and respirator puffs of air)

It was nip and tuck. Lots of consulting, using the cell phone shout outs, the computer for technical advice consultations.

Long hours in the garage under the shop lights with construction of special brackets and jacks to hoist the heavy boy up and spin him around during several reconstruction procedures.

Some of those operations were trial and error but eventually the reinforcing was done, painting complete and all just in time for the summer tourist season.

Thank you Rod Hemingway for so so many hours of precision attention to Clancy, our friendly welcoming symbol of Houlton Maine, the Aroostook County seat, our beloved Shiretown.

Only a few these boys were produced back in 1916. Leigh, please jump in and tell us more about Clara Frisbe’s $1000 dollar gift that brought the boy to Houlton Maine from New Jersey.

The newly rebuilt boy with the leaking boot is getting finishing shiny cosmetic touches.

Experimenting with paint because his color looked like iron poor blood. So much intricate work done to reinforce and replace the damage of time.
(You try holding a heavy water filled boot high in the air for 109 years and see how your body reacts.) Probably hard on L3 and L4 or other parts of your back and neck structure no?

His plastic surgery did not involve use of Botox.
No, he did not need a tummy tuck or stomach staple, dentures or hair plugs either.

This morning Rod and his associate Cheryl Welton are working steadily to complete the final touches.

Will post new images and please share the news and your fond memories of the boy with the leaking boot.

If traveling through Houlton Maine in Aroostook County, don’t miss sampling an ice cream and photo bombing the Boy with the leaky boot as a keepsake remembrance.

Tourism in Maine is not not so hot and heavy in small rural Maine communities. But the simple lifestyle and outdoor recreation opportunities they offer are no longer a secret.

The word is out and more folks outside Maine was what we have had for years.

These Me In Maine blog posts are designed to one by one spill the beans. Friendly, no traffic, low crime all pure and natural outdoor splendor. Maine, the way life should be and yes, the locals know how lucky we are to live, work and play in Maine.

  • Mt Katahdin Baxter State Park

    Mt Katahdin Baxter State Park

Mt Katahdin Baxter State Park in Maine is a key location on the Appalachian Trail (AT).

Baxter State Park is home to Mount Katahdin, the northern terminus of the 2,190+ mile trail. Thru-hikers either begin or conclude their Appalachian Trail journey at Baxter Peak, the summit of Mount Katahdin.

My four kids and I along with extra friends spent a lot of time at Baxter State Park. Climbing Mt Katahdin is unforgettable and a yearly repeated hiking tradition. But lots of other mountains and smaller foot hills to hike and conquer as you collect the different trail experiences. Growing up less than a hour away means tapping into the natural beauty and majesty of Baxster State Park / Mt Katahdin was right in my backyard.

Have you seen the movie Lost On A Mountain In Maine?

80 miles, 9 days and lost on Mt Katahdin and wandering around the Baxter State Park and beyond. The movie, a true story based on the story that swept the nation back in the summer of 1939.

Donn Fendler, a 12 year old Boy Scout lost his hiking party and found himself alone, wet, cold, tired and deeply lost in the woods around Baxter State Park while climbing Mt Katahdin in Piscataquis County Maine.

Watch The Trailer For Lost On A Mountain In Maine!

Hear, see Donn Fendler himeself reflect on what happened and his experience that had a happy ending.

Share your experience with Mt Katahdin, the hiking personal tales you have at Baxter State Park.

Lots of trails, which one to pick depends on the age, the size of your climbing party as you head to Baxter State Park.

    baxter state park
Baxter State Park. No Burger King, No Mickey Dees. Just Wildlife. No Vehicles, No People, Just Four Seasons All Natural Scenery.

    Where to begin?

    Mountains in Baxter State Park:

Baxter State Park boasts over 40 mountain peaks and ridges within its boundaries. Notable mountains include:

    1. Mount Katahdin:
      • Comprises five main peaks:
        • Baxter Peak (the highest at 5,269 feet)
        • Hamlin Peak
        • Pamola Peak
        • South Peak
        • Chimney Peak
    2. Other Peaks:
      • Mount Coe
      • South Brother and North Brother
      • Fort Mountain
      • Doubletop Mountain
      • The Owl

These mountains surrounding the crown jewel Mt Katahdin in Baxter State Park are breath taking.

Each provides a mix of hiking challenges, from strenuous climbs to more moderate trails, and offer stunning views of Maine’s wilderness. The park is renowned for its rugged beauty and commitment to preserving its natural state, making it a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts.

Starting a family hiking journey in Baxter State Park and working your way up to Mount Katahdin is an excellent plan! Here’s a guide to gradually build up experience and confidence, taking into account age, weather, and time constraints:

    1. Start Small: Horse Mountain

    • Trail Overview: A short hike (about 2 miles round trip) with moderate elevation gain, suitable for young children and beginners. 1400′ high. Start with this one my advice from experience.
    • Highlights: Scenic views without being too strenuous. Perfect for getting the family used to trails and rewarding vistas. The entire family can hike. Little hikers don’t have to stay home.
    • Tips: Bring snacks and let kids take breaks. Make it about the journey, not just the destination. Bring friends too to follow the blue dotted dash trail markets up and down the trails.

    2. Intermediate Hikes: Gradual Progression

For families with younger children or when weather or time is limited, Baxter State Park offers excellent “in-between” trails:

    South Turner Mountain

    • Trail Overview: Moderate hike (about 4.5 miles round trip) with excellent views of Katahdin and wildlife spotting opportunities.
    • Best For: Kids with a bit more endurance. A great next step after Horse Mountain.

    Blueberry Ledges

    • Trail Overview: A fun, easier trail with a round-trip of around 3.5 miles, offering waterfalls, forest views, and ledges to explore.Maine Blueberries, Wild Ones.
    • Best For: Kids who love variety and shorter distances.

    Ledge Falls

    • Trail Overview: Not a hike, but a fun family spot where kids can enjoy sliding down the natural rock water slides.
    • Best For: Hot summer days when hiking might be too exhausting. Work your way up to longer trails, steeper Baxter State Park mountain options.

    3. Advanced Preparation: Mount Katahdin

When your family is ready, tackling Katahdin is a monumental achievement. It’s challenging but incredibly rewarding. You might choose from these popular trails:

    Saddle Trail (via Chimney Pond)

    • Trail Overview: The most family-friendly ascent to Katahdin’s summit, but still requires good preparation.
    • Distance: About 10 miles round trip.
    • Best For: Families with teens or older children who have experience hiking and can handle longer, more strenuous climbs.

    Hunt Trail (Appalachian Trail)

    • Trail Overview: Classic but steep and exposed. Amazing views!
    • Distance: About 10.4 miles round trip.
    • Best For: Fit, experienced family members comfortable with rock scrambling.

Rainy/Time-Limited Days in Baxter State Park

    • Kid-Friendly Nature Trails: Explore interpretive trails like the Daicey Pond Loop (1 mile) or Sandy Stream Pond (0.5 miles) for wildlife watching.
    • Relaxing by the Water: Spend a day by Kidney Pond or Daicey Pond fishing, canoeing, or just soaking in the scenery.
    • Camping Adventures: Book a night at a family-friendly campsite, like those at Roaring Brook or Abol Campground.

Tips for Hiking with a Family:

    1. Plan Ahead: Check trail conditions, weather forecasts, and park guidelines.
    2. Pack Essentials: Water, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, and layers.
    3. Set Realistic Goals: Know everyone’s limits and be prepared to turn back if needed.
    4. Celebrate Small Wins: Let kids enjoy smaller accomplishments as stepping stones to bigger challenges like Katahdin.

This approach allows your family to build hiking confidence and create lasting memories in one of Maine’s most beautiful natural areas!

    Dining, Walking The Old Port

    Dining, walking the Old Port.

This section of Maine has a major pull for instate and out of state residents alike. Over the weekend, headed out Friday night from “The County” to zip to Wells Beach, Maine. Then get up early to beeline to Pease Air Force Base For an airshow.

Love To Fly And It Shows? Thunder Over New Hampshire Air Show This Past Weekend!

Have been to smaller Maine airport fly ins and posted photos, videos, details before on this Maine blog.

Fly Over, Pease Air Force Base New Hampshire B-52H Display. Part Of Food, Fun, Flight, Force At Thunder Over New Hampshire Air Show.

Fascination with flying started from stories my Dad told me about his Army Air Force missions as a B-24 Liberator tail gunner during World War Two.

Getting a part 107 FAA drone license helped the aviation bug to develop inside too.

So back to Thunder Over New Hampshire highlights. The Saturday weather was perfect, hot and clear to see the aviation acrobats overhead. I wondered about Sunday being cloudy and cooler if that impacted the overhead oohs and ahhs.

Seeing a B-52H up close and using the 185′ wingspan as shade overhead while munching on cheeseburgers and cheese nachos. My first big airshow and everything unfolded overhead in front of us.

Families with connections to the military and lots of younger cadets starting their service careers helping out running the event. It was neat to see all ages, their t-shirts to give you a hint of why they came to the air show event at Pease Air Force Base.

I wondered if the particular B-52H sitting next to the runway might have been stationed years ago at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone Maine.

The placard spelled out the B-52’s entered service of the skies around 1961 while Loring AFB was in full swing as a SAC base. Loring was 9472 acres of military secrets that closed September 1994.This B-52H pictured is stationed in Louisiana and on loan like the helicopters, other aircraft on display. Or put to the test in the air over Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire this past weekend.

The Loring AFB closure hit the economy of Northern Maine very hard and in some respects, Aroostook County is still recovering for the population loss.

  • Mini Vacations In Maine | Whaleback Lighthouse Kittery ME

Mini Vacations In Maine | Whaleback Lighthouse Kittery ME

Mini vacations in Maine, Whaleback Lighthouse in Kittery ME.

Maine is a big state. But when you live here full time, exploring every nook and cranny happens. Return trips to parts of Maine that hit you deep inside are common.

    whaleback lighthouse
Metal Extension Is No Longer On Whaleback Lighthouse, Kittery Maine

This blog post about a weekend getaway heading from Houlton Maine south on I-95 to visit a new granddaughter, a tad older grandson in the Boston MA area.

The travel distance, how far away in Maine is everything? This time of year it depends on the weather forecast on actual travel times for safety sake, not just the mileage.

If you have followed the Me In Maine blog, lighthouses are always a stable to cover.

The state tourism folks say there are 65 lighthouses in Maine. I always thought the number was 68 Maine lighthouses. Somehow Whaleback Lighthouse in Kittery ME escaped coverage. Once you start collecting them for photo and video capture, you realize one thing.

Some are easy peasy or very hard to access in the collection of Maine lighthouses.

Not the prettiest of lighthouses in Maine, Whaleback is made of granite blocks.

I think West Quoddy lighthouse in Lubec with the red stripes is the most attractive. Whaleback Lighthouse is at the mouth of Portsmouth Harbor. Started in 1829 and finished the next year, Whaleback Lighthouse set Uncle Sam back $21,000.

Then over two years starting in 1870, a new better built version of Whaleback lighthouse was constructed.

The Maine lighthouse had a cast iron fog signal attached seen in the black and white image. The metal addition did not improve her looks but with lighthouses in Maine, the purpose in communications is far more important than glamour.

The original lighthouse had poor construction but also is in a location hammered by the ocean waves at the mouth of Portsmouth Harbor. Probably could use a breakwater to help buffer the pressure from wind, water, ice.

Some Maine lighthouses are far far out to sea.

You need a Maine lobster boat or ferry ride to access. Or they are on an island close to the mainland parked at the harbor entrance but facing the Atlantic Ocean. From the shore these lighthouses not visible from shore. This is like the location of the lighthouse in Cutler Maine, Little River lighthouse.

Whaleback lighthouse is just off shore and Portland head light has just as convenient drive to easy access where to put your car.

Just park it and enjoy your walk around the trails. The areas of both Whaleback and Portland head light utilized as former forts to defend the Maine coastal regions from intruder attack. Used as observation points. To detect any possible hostile enemy force floating in hoping to be undetected from the seaward approach.

Whaleback lighthouse is just off shore from Fort Foster, at the mouth of the Piscataqua River.

    Whaleback lighthouse is gone.

The Whaleback Lighthouse Observatory needs work and is next door.

The two structures are about third of a mile average distance off shore.

Not far from where Maine and New Hampshire state line happens in the dotted line the big green bridge highway traffic crosses high overhead.

More about what it was like being a lighthouse keeper at Whaleback during storms and living in a poorly built original structure.

Can you imagine the lonely but important life signalling dangers in all kinds of Maine weather living in a lighthouse? With only ledge rocks and pounding waves rocking your small tight quarters and supplying all that ice cold sea spray.

You have to be able to entertain yourself with a good book or strive to be a writer, a painter.

To capture the experience off the coast of Maine calling a lighthouse home sweet home. The lighthouses with some patch of dirt surrounding them were often farmed.

Your own farm fresh local eggs, small animals and a modest harvest from the lighthouse garden soil.

Can you imagine life as a Maine lighthouse keeper? One lighthouse keeper I read about bought a piano for his wife’s entertainment. But only one sheet of music could defeat the purpose and cause emotions to rise in the solitude and a single tune over and over. Could too much peace and quiet most of the time challenge your sanity?

The lighthouse dweller the ultimate social distance keeper.

The mini vacations in Maine, this one had lots of highlights tackled in a short period of time.

Seeing a new granddaughter and her brother, visiting with the parents in Boston was fun. So was spending the night in the Old Port at the Regency.

Meg and I have stayed at the Portland Harbor Hotel.

Walked the cobble stone streets to different Old Port places to eat on each visit. Last winter, on the same trek to Boston to see family, a stop in the Old Port happened.

  • Maine | What’s It Like Living In Maine?

Maine | What’s It Like Living In Maine?

Maine, what’s it like living in Maine?

The state up in the right hand corner of the country, Maine.

What to expect traveling to experience Maine up close and personal.

    maine photos
Maine. Small Word, Big Place, Lots Of Unspoiled Space.

For starters, the further you head north, east and west to get up to Maine, the quieter it gets.

Man made noise gets replaced with song birds, a breeze in the rustling tree leaves. Waterfront settings and lapping waves, singing loons, where it just you.

Maine hiking trails where you can really hear yourself think and process life.

Spending time to unwind and get some exercise and perspective up in Maine. Space, time out. Not so hard in Maine with only 41 people per square mile in southern sections. Even less, just 11 folks per same 208’x208′ acre unit in the northern Maine region. Less distractions, sharper awareness happens when you remove the urban buzz and grind.

    white tail deer in maine
Maine White Tail Deer. One Of The Wildlife Sights You’ll Meet On Your Trip To Maine.

Maybe it’s the fresh clean air alone. Not just the natural unspoiled space that is the cure. Maine has lots to offer and just as much to enjoy that is missing.

Traffic, crime, rude and impersonal. Those words don’t describe Maine. Not why you come for a day and end up staying a lifetime.

We all hunger to get beside or out on the waterfront in Maine.

    maine mount katahdin photo
Maine’s Highest Mountain, MT Katahdin. Located In Forever Wild Baxter State Park.

Slowly you get away from less stress of crowds, traffic, the impatience and impersonal way of life surviving population centers.

In Maine, you see wildlife, watch out for it as you drive the scenic highways. You meet some of the nicest the down to Earth friendly hardworking people always willing to lend a hand.

Small towns in Maine are proud of their communities, their children and where they live all four seasons.

The deeper you push up into Maine, the more relaxed and personal the strong local connection grows. The space, all this unspoiled Maine land

and nature in your private backyard is never taken for granted by locals and returning vacationers to Maine.

Chances are if you love blueberries they came from Maine.

    maine blueberries
Wild Blueberries From Maine. More Delicious, Healthier Than Bigger Ones Not From Raked From Maine.

Lobsters from the coastal waters of Maine are hands down the best too. Especially when enjoyed in a quaint Maine harbor town.

But the state of Maine, it’s way more than Aroostook County fertile farm fields growing potatoes or being

the dominate producers of the World’s tasty blueberries, lobsters and spuds.

There’s lots more to this great state of Maine than one, two, three pick ’em up and put them in the basket then barrel potatoes.

This blog post highlights the what’s it like living in Maine.

You can not rely on reports from online folks who have never been to Maine but have very loud and negative things to say about Vacationland. What are your expectations and everyone is not just like you and me is a good start before broadcasting the wrong idea about Maine.

Who would want to visit like 37 million folks do a year that vacation in Maine?

Those vacations and return visits are what lead to reasons to consider moving to Maine.

Often water has something to do with your picking Maine. Water is tied to your Maine vacation or relocation location selection. Nothing compares being parked on the ocean, lake, pond, river or stream in Maine. It is a spiritual experience if you are lucky enough to have the Maine waterfront for a property neighbor.

    maine loons
Listening To Maine Loons. Seeing Them Paddling Your Kayak On A Maine Lake. Priceless.

Breathing in the salt air, touring the Maine coast on a guide boat ride hearing and seeing the local highlights. Each trip in or around Maine is an education. Maine, you can’t say you been to a Kittery ME shopping outlet and be dubbed an expert of “what’s it like living in Maine. You barely entered the very big state. • Maine Vacations | Little Time, Lots To See In Maine

Maine Vacations | Little Time, Lots To See In Maine

Maine vacations, little time, lots to see when you live in Vacationland.

Lucky to live in Maine and whenever there are a couple days here and there, it’s time to explore. Because Maine has four seasons, the same location is so different depending on the calendar spot you visit. So mini, instate Maine stay vacation time. Taking in Maine four season beauty in bite size segments. This past weekend, decided it was time to take in a Maine Black Bear ice hockey game at the Alfond Arena in Orono.

    maine black bear hockey
Maine Black Bear Chilly Cheering Section In The Alfond Arena, Orono ME!

I am a college alumni of the University of Maine Orono campus.

Meg too along with most of my and her family members. The Harold Alfond Arena was just a parking lot when I joined Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity across the street on College Avenue in Orono. I was the treasurer of the fraternity house. Lived there year round working in the Bangor broadcasting market during and after college at the University of Maine at Orono.

Back in the early days around 1977 with Shawn Walsh leading the Maine Black Bear college ice hockey team, it was pretty spectacular.

You can’t hoot, holler on an empty stomach when you go to a University of Maine Black Bear ice hockey game at the Alfond Arena.

Pat’s Pizza’s flag ship location, the Mother of all Pat’s Pizzas is close by Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant in downtown Orono, ME in Penobscot County. After filling the pie hole at Margarita’s with “South of the Border” menu items food, we headed to the Alfond UMO ice hockey arena. Parked in the steam plant parking lot, by the river. Put on the mask, hoofed it with Meg to the hockey game between Maine Black Bears and UNH Huskies college teams.

Walking home to TKE fraternity during my University years at 370 College Ave Orono ME, I remember watching the Alfond Ice Arena being built.

One board, cement pier at a time put into place. Lots of roof slopes in the design and the kind you can run hard and climb easily wearing sneakers not dress shoes. To overlook the river and reflect on the four year college education bubble experience.

Lines Coming And Going. Using The Two Bench Doors Or Usually Sliding Up And In/Out Over The Alfond Ice Arena Hockey Boards.

We had a Dan Sweeney from Buzzard’s Bay MA in our TKE fraternity house who was a Maine black bear hockey player.

Our intramural hockey games had really crazy ice times because that arena gets used round the clock. Day and night. Every season of the year. It was not uncommon to set your alarm clock, get up at 3 AM and walk over next door to the Alfond ice arena for a college recreation hockey game.

Our biggest rival was Phi Eta Kappa fraternity at UMO.

There were quite a few jocks in each fraternity that competed heavily but also made sure to be at each other’s house parties. Not sure if that qualifies as a love hate relationship or not. Let’s just call it a spirited competition and leave it at that. My Dad was in BETA fraternity at UMO.

Had two boys who played Maine high school hockey and all the games with Old Town, Orono were at the Alfond arena in Orono.

And as any hockey parent knows, in high school, the sport continues year round. Summer hockey games every weekend at UMO’s Alfond Arena happened. And the parents in their shorts and short sleeves come inside out of the warm summer sun.

To watch, run the clock, announce, man the penalty box, to control the flow from the bench out onto the arena ice. To perform whatever chore at the ice arena and then in our case travel two hours back home to “The County”. All uphill heading North. Excited when you see the I-95 sign for “Benedicta ME” on the return home.

You know you are crossing the county line into Aroostook when you see Benedicta that only got one Interstate 95 exit.

After the Maine Black Bear ice hockey game, Meg and I headed over to the other side of Orono. Bagging ZZZzzz’s at the Black Bear Inn right off the Stillwater Ave exit.

We got up early on Sunday to head down to Acadia National Park. Visiting Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Bass Harbor lighthouse.

Every little town along the way as you drive the hilly, snaking highways that weave in and out of the coastal villages and towns. Neat coves, amazing rock formations and harbor views that excite.

It’s all a difference experience in a Maine winter.

We’ve blogged about returning to a Maine community vacation destination but in a different season. Like this blog post on Cape Porpoise, Old Port, the Maine coast. No or very few tourists, no bumper to bumper traffic or waiting in line. The peace and quiet replace the crowds of tourist seeking to sample Maine on summer vacation.

Not as many places open during the “shoulder season” or “off season” but the local operators are more laid back, friendlier and not so busy.

Walked around Bar Harbor, shot some blog post images.

Then traveled on to Acadia National Park. Paid the entrance fee and took in the sights on what was open around the perimeter road. Big Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, checked out Bass Harbor Headlight. Saw Egg Rock Lighthouse too and had covered that area from boat in an earlier Maine instate stay vacation.

The pathways, rocks covered with new white fluffy snow and hidden ice make it be better go slow and be super careful.

Watch your step folks. Fresh air, cobalt blue skies, a few tourists dressed warmly and wearing hats, gloves. Some strap on removable ice grips. Weather in Maine, we are outdoors year round. Just dress a little different in the exercise and sight seeing when in Maine.

Sure we can get lobsters, mussels, clams and crab meat at our local Maine Piggly Wiggly groceries. Or from a pick up with a box truck cooler on back that can fish you out just about anything sea food wise.

But nothing like tapping the source and knowing what you dine on was swimming in the sea not long before the same day direct from the harbor pound.

Decided to sample some Geaghan’s BBQ wings and lay the head in the bed Sunday night in Bangor because Monday was President’s Day, school vacation too. There are many times just too busy to sneak out of town to see some new surroundings living in Maine full time as a native, local insider.
